Hello, it’s so nice that you’re here!
I’m a contemporary abstract artist based in Hamburg, Germany.
My work begins with observation. I’m drawn to the changing colours of the seasons, weathered materials, shifting light, and the small moments that often go unnoticed. Rather than painting these places directly, I translate their atmosphere into abstract compositions built through colour, texture, and gesture.
Before establishing my painting practice, I completed a PhD in urban geography, researching the visual experience of place through photography. Further studies in urban photography at Goldsmiths, University of London, deepened my interest in observation as a creative practice. Looking back, I see that painting has become a continuation of that way of seeing—only now I work with colour instead of the camera.
Today, I work primarily with acrylic, natural pigments, and textured materials on paper and canvas. My paintings are held in private collections internationally and have been exhibited in group exhibitions in Hamburg.

My Practice
In 2026, I began A Year in Colour Stories, an ongoing body of work exploring one seasonal colour palette each month.
Each colour story begins long before I pick up a brush. I collect impressions through walks, photography, notes, and found colour combinations before carefully mixing a palette by hand. From these studies emerge small original works on paper, larger paintings on canvas, and written reflections that explore colour as both a visual language and an emotional experience.
Rather than documenting the seasons, I’m interested in how they feel. A colour story becomes a way of noticing: the warmth of weathered clay, the softness of evening light, the movement of wind through leaves, or the quiet reassurance of natural materials.
I create paintings for people who notice. People who are drawn to subtle colour relationships, thoughtful materials, and spaces with character. I hope my work encourages a slower way of looking and offers something that reveals itself over time: adding meaning, atmosphere, and a sense of presence to the places we live.
